all the children present and a traditional service at 6.00pm on
the 12 th October.The supper follows the evening service at 7.00pm.

day exploring the role of Mary Mother of God Incarnate in fulfilling
the promise of a new heaven and earth. Leader: Father Alex Adkins
who serves as Roman Catholic priest in Lincoln .

BISHOP'S
VISITATION – Thursday 23rd October
The
Bishop of Lincoln is making a visitation to these parishes on the
23rd October (Thursday).He hopes to gain a clearer understanding
of the nature of our communities and the role of the church within
them. There will be an ‘open meeting' for all parishioners to meet
him and ask questions this will be a 7.30pm in St Andrew's Parish
Hall Witham on the Hill (or in church depending on availability)
It will be proceeded by Evening Prayer at 7.00pm and will end at
9.00pm.

24 th October DREAMS – GOD'S FORGOTTEN LANGUAGE. Dilys Phipps,
a psychotherapist and spiritual director explores that place in
the mind where the Lord reveals himself in the ‘psychic events'
called dreams.

the service today. Proceeds towards Lynda's trip to Belarus to help
distribute ‘shoeboxes' with the Operation Christmas Child Campaign

‘The Stranger' is an important and under-explored theme but one
which is important in Christian Development. This day explores three
Biblical Passages about God as stranger. Les oversees the continuing
education and development of clergy in Ely Diocese.

opportunity for a time of detailed and prayerful attention to this
short book of the Old Testament. In contemporary Christian thought
the ‘ Song of Songs' is often ignored but it is central to the Christian
mystical tradition and expresses the themes of waiting, longing
and desire which are central to the spirituality of Advent

traditional quiet day for Advent with addresses, quiet and worship.

is now an Anglican Layman with many years experience of retreat

17th May 2008 at 10.30 am. Now is the time to express interest
or find out more. Preparation will begin before Christmas.
